Stratford-upon-Avon Weekend

Waiting for Wicked to start.
This says Wicked if you can read it. The show was good but it was different hearing it with accents.

On our way to Stratford we stopped at the Blenheim Palace and wondered around for a few hours.
I found it interesting that the grounds were man made because they changed them from the garden style to make it look more natural. They were beautiful.

Michelle and I at the Palace

The inside of this palace was interesting with lots of pictures of the battle that gave the builder of the palace favor with the queen. The queen gave him money to build it and as long as they bring a flag to the castle once a year they don't have to pay rent. I wish rent would work like that for me.
It is hard to see but there is a man on a horse. It reminded me of Lindsay because there was a horse show going on by the palace. There was lots of sheep there too but I didn't take pictures of them. All the animals made me think of the farm.
The eyes are above the door to get into the palace. They said they were going to tell us about them but never did. I think they were just trying to creep on people.

The garden in the backyard. Glad I don't have to do up keep on it but it was pretty to look at.

Fountain that is in the lower area of the garden

Stratford-upon-Avon
This is in a village we stopped in the little footbridge was cool.

This is the group I sat with in the rain to enjoy our English cream tea I forgot to take a picture of what it looked like before eating it. It was good everyone's plates are cleared. (picture of cream tea below)

This is the bed and breakfast I stayed in. Our group was so big that we took up most of three different bed and breakfasts. A French man ran ours and served a traditional English breakfast. (Picture Below) He told us if we cleaned our plates he would give us a voucher for a date with a actor. Stratford is where Shakespeare lived an has many actors visit. There is a local pub that is known to have famous people visit. We went to it but didn't see anyone.

Our breakfast didn't have the black circles (blood pudding)

In the park with the girls who came on Wednesday. They were told the wrong gate and missed the plane here so they had to wait an extra week before joining us. Cindy on the right was my roommate at the B&B. Sahara in middle came with her.
These were the most interesting seats that I had ever seen in a theatre. It was like we sat in high chairs to watch the show. we were the highest row in the theatre making us have to hang over the wooden bar to see some of what was going on in Macbeth.
Cindy and I went to go see what the market had on Sunday but found that it was not open yet so we took turns knocking on the small castle door that we found near by.
