Football/ war rooms

At the football game (soccer) The guys behind us had to explain some of the rules to us.

The Buckners were at the game.

It was hard getting home but I followed a friend's hat and we took the train back to the middle of London.

Greenwich boat trip and Ireland

We went under many bridges but this one has a song about it falling down so good thing we made it safely.
It was really cold on the boat but the view of everything was amazing and the guide told us a lot of cool information. More pictures on facebook.

The count down for the Olympic start. We went to where the horse races will be.
In two hemispheres at once. We all had to wait in line to get a picture like this.
When we were done with our tour we went to Cafe Sol for margaritas. They were really good.
Sitting in the front seat of the DRL
We are where the driver would be on all of the other trains.
Waiting to get on our first bus to Ireland. It took 16 hours to get to Cork. It included a 4 hour ferry ride.
We found a cool bookshop. My friend from Des Moines found a book that references Des Moines in the first sentence. The store owner told us about it when he asked where we were from. She bought the book and laughed as she read it on the way home.
A sign for Kelly
One of the Catholic churches we saw as we walked around the town.
We figured we had to have one since we were in Ireland.
At the pub as we got our drinks.
We both finished our drinks.
We went out for gelato
The pub where we ate.
This was a creepy puppet band that was playing in the street.
waiting for our second bus ride to go home.
I colored on the bus to pass the time. I had to find some way to spend the 32 hours we spent going to and from Ireland.
Taking the bus gave us lots of cool views that we would not have gotten if a plane. I just had to pretend I was on a band trip again.
One of the towns we stopped in had this sign. The store was closed cuz it was late but the sign reminded me of Dad.

homework week

This week has been full of classes homework and going places for classes. Our first set of journals and some other assignments were due this week. I start fall break a week from today. I'm ready for the week off. Not much excitement here as I try to plan out upcoming trips and get stuff done for break. Everything is going well. Tomorrow is the boat trip to Greenwich and then night bus to Ireland. 30 hours on a bus + 5 hours in Ireland= what was I thinking when we planned this. As they say here if it turns out bad it will make one great story.

Went to the science museum with a friend. Turns out it was more of a history of science museum. Got to see some of the original models of Watson Crick base pairs though (learned about them in organic chemistry).
Original model that they used when coming up with the theory.
science of agriculture- if it was corn it would be like home.

Pride and Prejudice part 2

Sheep coming down in a line
We had the taxis driver drop us off at the footpath to avoid waiting in the line of cars.
The cars had to stop to let sheep cross the road.
Wouldn't you want a parking lot in front of your house.

A painting of the place we visited.
Cool mirror image of us.
big door

I found a pig cookie and it reminded me of home. I thought Dad would like that there is pig stuff all over the world :)
The bust of Mr Darcy from the Pride and Prejudice movie. The lady told us that they had it behind the scenes. 100 ft behind her we found out how little she knew.

tree sprinkler little children were running through it because it was in the high 70's
Cool rocks that I think look like a cartoon character.
We tried doing the maze but got lost quickly and didn't think it was wroth the trouble.

This would be a scene from the pride and prejudice movie but reconstruction made it a bad picture of it. We were very disappointed.

This is another scene but we were not allowed to get close and this is as far as my camera would zoom.
The family crest. We could get back in with this stamp.
The taxis ride home.
The bed and breakfast we stayed in. It was really nice and we had another style of English breakfast.

We went in search of the rocks that they stood on in the movie and found them.
It was windy but a cool place to climb.
We had a lot of time to spend till our train came so we went to a movie. We all got different snacks and waited because we were there so early.
waiting at the train station for our train to come.
