Fall Break

In Rome before we got on the cruise. We had to take our stuff with us because we didn't have time to go back to the hostel. By the time we got to the cruise ship we were glad that we didn't have to do it again until after the cruise in a week.
At the Trevi Fountain in Rome. We all made a wish and took a picture together but it is on someone else's camera so will probably end up on facebook. We went to a gelato place right next to it. It was good stuff.
Most of the trip my friends had agendas of where they wanted to go and what they wanted to see so I let them worry about how to get places. I found my way of wondering around and finding cool things by random signs (in other languages).

At the Pantheon.

We got lost trying to find how to get to the cruise ship but got lucky when we stopped in cafe with a guy that ran the port for the cruises. He called a guy and a bus picked us up. This is the sunset on the first night. The rest of the nights we were eating dinner when the sun set so pictures were not very good through the windows.
Our Cruse ship
This is a picture of the volcano we climbed.

At the top of the volcano
At supper on the cruse. We could get as much food as we wanted. We usually got two desserts.

What our cabin looked like.

All dressed up for the Gala night.
midnight surprise

In a castle entrance

We came to this port with no idea of what we wanted to see. We looked at a map and this part stuck out to us. Man fighting Shark.
Find the boat in the picture. The port allowed the boat really close to the city
At the Vatican city
This is the room of busts, as our tour guide calls it the room of stolen property. It was the easiest part of the statue to steal and it was still able to be recognized.
Read the sign

Apparently this flight doesn't like heels
We got free chocolate from the flight with Swiss air
Yay care package from family

Football/ war rooms

At the football game (soccer) The guys behind us had to explain some of the rules to us.

The Buckners were at the game.

It was hard getting home but I followed a friend's hat and we took the train back to the middle of London.

Greenwich boat trip and Ireland

We went under many bridges but this one has a song about it falling down so good thing we made it safely.
It was really cold on the boat but the view of everything was amazing and the guide told us a lot of cool information. More pictures on facebook.

The count down for the Olympic start. We went to where the horse races will be.
In two hemispheres at once. We all had to wait in line to get a picture like this.
When we were done with our tour we went to Cafe Sol for margaritas. They were really good.
Sitting in the front seat of the DRL
We are where the driver would be on all of the other trains.
Waiting to get on our first bus to Ireland. It took 16 hours to get to Cork. It included a 4 hour ferry ride.
We found a cool bookshop. My friend from Des Moines found a book that references Des Moines in the first sentence. The store owner told us about it when he asked where we were from. She bought the book and laughed as she read it on the way home.
A sign for Kelly
One of the Catholic churches we saw as we walked around the town.
We figured we had to have one since we were in Ireland.
At the pub as we got our drinks.
We both finished our drinks.
We went out for gelato
The pub where we ate.
This was a creepy puppet band that was playing in the street.
waiting for our second bus ride to go home.
I colored on the bus to pass the time. I had to find some way to spend the 32 hours we spent going to and from Ireland.
Taking the bus gave us lots of cool views that we would not have gotten if a plane. I just had to pretend I was on a band trip again.
One of the towns we stopped in had this sign. The store was closed cuz it was late but the sign reminded me of Dad.
